What is Oddluck?

Oddluck is a chaotic deck-building adventure game for iPhone and Android. Every run starts with a Dream — Own an Island, Build a Pizza Empire, Never Work Again — and you build a deck of Action, Income, Skill, and Asset cards to chase it. Draw, play, and manage Coins, Energy, and Joy across a run that takes about half an hour, while a miniature world visibly changes with every choice you make.

Then Oddluck happens.

Random events — lucky, unlucky, chaotic, or a choice that's really a trap — land on every run. A stray bike tire. A market that turns against you. A cat that watches, unbothered, while it all unfolds. You did your part. Now see what happens.

How it plays

What's not in the box

No dollar signs. No doom-scrolling stat sheets. No lecture. Oddluck's calls are final — luck is luck, and preparation changes how hard it hits, never whether it happens.

Who it's for

Strategy players who like warm humor, readable systems, and short tactile runs — fans of deck-builders and roguelites like Slay the Spire, Balatro, Wildfrost, and Dicey Dungeons. Simple enough for a ten-year-old to pick up ("debt monsters keep stealing my Coins"), deep enough for adults to obsess over ("that's essentially interest on future cash flow"). Built kid-safe, played by adults who remember what it's like to open a credit card statement and immediately regret everything.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of game is Oddluck?

A single-player deck-building roguelite with a life-adventure theme. Pick a Dream, build a deck, manage Coins, Energy, and Joy, and adapt to random Oddluck events. A full run takes 30–60 minutes; a natural session is 3–8 minutes.

How much does Oddluck cost?

Oddluck is free to download and is supported by ads. Pricing details will be on the store listing when it launches.

Can I play offline?

Yes. Fully playable with no connection. No account, no server, nothing to sign up for. Saves are stored on your device.

Is Oddluck a gambling game?

No. Chance events are roguelike-style randomness inside a story — like drawing an event card in a board game. There's no wagering for a payout, no casino mechanics, and in-game Coins have no real-world value.

Is it suitable for kids?

The content is kid-safe — no violence, profanity, or gambling — and understandable from around age 10 up. It's rated 12+ on the App Store and Everyone 10+ on Google Play, and is not enrolled in Apple's Kids category or Google Play Families.

Does Oddluck teach money management?

Not with lessons or quizzes. Saving, debt, recurring costs, and risk are the physics underneath the game, dressed as cards, monsters, and events. You get better at Oddluck by understanding its systems. It's a game first — not financial advice.

When is it coming out?

Oddluck is coming to iPhone and Android. Email us to hear when it launches.

Oddluck is a game. Its Coins, debt monsters, and Money Trees are game mechanics, not financial advice, and nothing in it should be relied on for real-world financial decisions.
